Rates/Class Size
Classes are $130 for a 10-week session. For families with more than one child, the sibling fee is $70. We need to meet a minimum quota of 8 students per class for the session to run, so sign up and tell a friend. Class size will be 8 – 12 students.
Class Description
Orff Ensemble
for ages 4 – 8 yrs (pre-school or equiv. through Grade 3)
This class is crafted to be inclusive of children of mixed ages. We will play games, tell stories, do folk dances and improvise movement, rhythm and melody. In addition we will focus our energies and apply our skills to building our own musical creations. The children will be encouraged to explore their own ideas and work together to construct musical pieces that include dancing, singing, theater, percussion and melodies. Classroom activities are adaptable to be simpler or more complex to meet the skill level of the participant, be they 4, 8 or 48. Parent participation is encouraged but not required, at the discretion of the family. Many of our parents have a great time in class!
